I can’t remember a time I didn’t love learning about health and nutrition.
I considered degrees in all of these fields, but ended up in nursing school in 2002. I thought this would be a field where I could incorporate all of my interests. I quickly realized today’s medical model is focused on sick care and symptom management, not pursuing true HEALTH and finding the root cause of illness. I knew this would serve me in the long run so I pressed on and decided this wouldn’t be the culmination of my journey into health exploration – but the beginning. Fresh out of nursing school, I found myself in the kitchen teaching myself how to cook.
I quickly became obsessed with all things food as I learned how food could be fuel. I was learning what it meant to truly be well! When I stumbled upon a program from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, I jumped in with both feet and learned what holistic nutrition and living was. I have the privilege of being a wellness advocate and for both my own family and others. My desire to continue to educate, inspire and support people in pursuing holistic health has never gone away. I’m cannot unlearn what I have discovered, instead now I am called to share with the world!

MY PERSONAL story begins with my son…
When my first born was a year and a half we welcomed his brother to our family. My first born was so sick he was unable to come to the hospital to meet his little brother. I didn’t think anything of that first illness in 2015, but for the next two years, he had similar illnesses at the exact same time of year, with 2017 being his worst year. His skin was always affected, developing crazy rashes.
Viral rashes are not uncommon with fevers, but in 2017 the illness was starting to take over his lungs. He was needing to do nebulizer albuterol treatments to keep his oxygen levels up and his breathing was very labored. We somehow managed to control it at home and keep him out of the hospital which was great.
In addition to all of this, he had developed eczema on his inner thighs. It started as some small red bumps, but continued to grow and bother him to the point of him scratching to bleeding.
In 2017 I was also in my coaching program hearing from experts in functional medicine and alternative healthcare. Had I not been, I likely would have ended up at my conventional pediatrician’s office with some steroid cream that would have been the band aid to the problem.
Instead I took what I was learning in my coursework, dove deeper on my own and found a functional medicine practitioner in my area that could support my son on the path I knew he needed to be on. What I learned is simply put – your gut effects every aspect of your immune system and body.
The journey my son went through and the one my husband and I did alongside him is the basis of my Gut Health Reboot Program.
Long story short, we healed his eczema in ONE week and as long as we are taking care of his body, he doesn’t have issues anymore!

My point is this, anything is possible with some effort. Supporting people on their wellness journey is my passion and purpose in life, what I am called to do. I can’t wait to support you on your journey (and remember, it is just that – A JOURNEY!)
